The King George still looks like Ireland's to lose - but this 50-1 chance scores well on price
It was a strange place to be, on Betfair at lunchtime on Tuesday. The old King George market was dying and the new one struggling to be born. Where were all the monsters?
Putting in Corbetts Cross as King George favourite has the feel of a placeholder. If you have a high-class three-mile chaser and £4,600 to spare, the money would surely be warming your pocket.
Aside from the new favourite's shakiness, this still looks like Ireland's race to lose. None of the domestic challengers really jumps off the page. Grey Dawning and Royale Pagaille both had hard races in the Betfair Chase, while that same race showed Bravemansgame's limitations.
