‘The best horse got beat in the Moulin’ - Silvestre de Sousa hoping ace miler Charyn can set record straight at Ascot
Silvestre de Sousa felt the best horse was beaten in last month’s Prix du Moulin and hopes to right that wrong on leading miler Charyn in the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes at Ascot on Saturday.
Charyn is set to have his last domestic start in the £1.1 million event, with the Breeders' Cup Mile and Japan's Mile Championship under consideration next month before the Nurlan Bizakov-owned four-year-old is retired to stud.
The Roger Varian-trained grey has been a revelation this season, finishing in the first two in all six starts and triumphing in two Group 1s in the Queen Anne at Royal Ascot and Prix Jacques le Marois at Deauville.
