'She simply oozes class' - our experts pick out their juveniles to follow in the major two-year-old races to come

The next month is packed with top-notch races for two-year-olds and so our team have picked out their juveniles to follow as the Flat season reaches its crescendo . . .

Powerful Glory

By David Jennings, deputy Ireland editor

There are two Richard Fahey-trained two-year-olds who could be anything this autumn, both owned by Sheikh Rashid Dalmook Al Maktoum.

Strong Warrior struck me as a potential star when he won at Ayr in July, but we haven't seen him since and he's been taken out of Saturday's Mill Reef, so he must have had some sort of setback.

Stablemate Powerful Glory has been left in that Newbury event and he looks really smart, too. Indeed, I wouldn't put anyone off having a few quid on him now at 6-1 with Paddy Power.

The form of his stylish Pontefract win has already worked out well, with the third winning at Kempton and the second and fourth both shaping nicely since too. The way he hit the line there suggests the future is very bright.

This Richard Fahey-trained colt looked smart when winning on his debut at Pontefract and the form has not been let down, with the third winning on his next start and the second and fourth have since been placed.

The son of Cotai Glory cost £190,000 as a breeze-up and is being aimed at the Mill Reef at Newbury on Saturday, a race Fahey won with Supplicant in 2013 and Ribchester two years later.

His most recent runner, Rousing Encore, finished second at 20-1 two years ago and Powerful Glory is one to keep on side.

Formal

By Richard Birch, tipster

Formal simply oozes class, and I will be shocked if she doesn’t win the Group 2 Al Basti Equiworld, Dubai Rockfel Stakes at Newmarket.

Unbeaten in two starts, and proven on both fast and soft ground, she destroyed her Leicester rivals under a 5lb penalty last Tuesday and looks destined for the top.

The daughter of Dubawi settled matters with an electric turn of foot that afternoon, and can take the step up in class in her stride at Newmarket.

Dreamy

By James Stevens, West Country correspondent

Dreamy looks exactly that for Aidan O'Brien and, while she looks a Oaks filly in the making, she can finish this season with Group 1 victory.

The imposing American Pharoah filly was a hugely impressive winner of a 7f maiden at Glorious Goodwood despite being green and once again displayed signs of inexperience when following up in impressive fashion in a Group 3 at the Curragh last month.

The evidence suggests she has a huge amount of ability, and there are a few options for her towards the end of the season.

She's in the Fillies' Mile and would be a leading contender there, but connections could also be tempted by the Prix Marcel Boussac, which Opera Singer won having struck in the same race at the Curragh. Either way, she is a high-class prospect to get in the tracker.

Bay City Roller

By Jonathan Harding, reporter

I'm looking forward to seeing what Bay City Roller can do on his next start after extending his unbeaten record to three in the Group 2 Champagne Stakes last weekend.

He took the step up in class in his stride and deserves to be tested at the highest level, with trainer George Scott aiming him at the Futurity Trophy back at Doncaster.

The son of New Bay, who also has the option of the Dewhurst Stakes, should have no problem stepping up to a mile and is an exciting prospect.
