Shadwell's prolific Anmaat likely to take on Economics and co in Irish Champion Stakes
Owen Burrows is inclined to add more Group 1 firepower to the Royal Bahrain Irish Champion Stakes at Leopardstown on Saturday week with Anmaat likely to take on Economics, Auguste Rodin and co in the €1.25 million race.
Shadwell’s six-year-old landed the Betfred Rose of Lancaster at Haydock last month on his first start since sealing a breakthrough top-level win in the Prix d’Ispahan at Longchamp in May last year.
Anmaat, an eight-time winner from 13 starts, has never finished out of the first three and is versatile regarding ground. He is a general 25-1 for the Irish Champion, a race in which stablemate Alflaila finished fifth last year.
