New target on the cards for Crambo as Fergal O'Brien eyes third Grade 1 in the Stayers' Hurdle at Cheltenham
Britain's best staying hurdler will take a different route to this year's Cheltenham Festival, with Fergal O'Brien considering this month's Cleeve Hurdle for Crambo.
The eight-year-old joined the likes of Baracouda, Big Buck's, Reve De Sivola and Paisley Park in becoming a multiple winner of the Long Walk Hurdle at Ascot last month and is as short as 12-1 to give his local trainer an elusive first victory at jump racing's biggest meeting in March.
O'Brien insists last year's run in the Stayers' Hurdle when ninth to Teahupoo can be discounted and is hoping a run over the race's course and distance on Trials day can lay to rest any concerns about his stable star's ability to handle the track.
