Kelso is to stage a new £75,000 2m1f handicap chase on its Borders National card in December in a timely boost for northern jump racing.
It underlines the course's commitment to investing in prize-money and will be run in honour of Richard Landale, the long-serving former managing director who died this year and who was passionate about attracting good horses to the track.
The new contest will have no upper ratings limit and replaces a £20,000 Class 3 0-140 race, which was run for the first time in 2022.
