July Cup winner Mill Stream back at Newmarket for racecourse gallop as preparation for Group 1 sprint intensifies
July Cup winner Mill Stream stepped up his preparation for the Group 1 Qipco British Champion Sprint Stakes at Ascot on Saturday week with a racecourse gallop at Newmarket.
Jane Chapple-Hyam’s stable star, who is generally 10-1 fifth favourite for the Champions Day feature on October 19, was reunited with William Buick for a six-furlong workout on the Rowley Mile in which he was led by stablemate El Bodon.
Owner Peter Harris watched from opposite the stands as the three-year-old came out of the Dip to finish a couple of lengths to the good.
