Jonbon 'staying down the two-mile route' after Nicky Henderson and JP McManus discussions
Nicky Henderson and JP McManus will resist the temptation of stepping Jonbon up in trip this season, with the powerful partnership instead plotting a path to the Betway Queen Mother Champion Chase.
The eight-year-old, who won the Grade 1 Melling Chase over two and a half miles last term, will start off in the Shloer Chase at Cheltenham in November, a race he won last season.
The plan from there will be the Tingle Creek, Clarence House and then the Champion Chase at the Cheltenham Festival, a meeting Jonbon missed last season alongside many of his stablemates.
