Jonbon 'bright as a button' as Nicky Henderson plots Ascot bid before Champion Chase target

Nicky Henderson reported Jonbon to be "bright as a button" on Sunday and that all roads lead to Ascot next month for his Betfair Tingle Creek hero.

The JP McManus-owned eight-year-old became the first horse since Kauto Star in 2006 to win the Grade 1 for a second successive year at Sandown on Saturday.

There did, however, appear to be some blood around the pastern of one of Jonbon's hind legs, but Henderson confirmed everything was as expected and that he was relishing the remainder of the season with his star two-miler.
