Warren Greatrex eyes Grade 1 glory on Boxing Day with 'special' horse Good And Clever
Warren Greatrex has set his sights on Grade 1 glory with the exciting Good And Clever, who is under consideration for the Formby Novices' Hurdle at Aintree on Boxing Day.
The five-year-old has impressed in three outings for the yard, most recently when second to Regent's Stroll in a maiden hurdle at Newbury last week. His two other appearances brought a runaway 12-length success in a Warwick bumper in March, before a third-placed finish in a Grade 2 bumper at Aintree in April that has produced ten subsequent winners.
La Bague Au Roi provided Greatrex with his last Grade 1 triumph in 2019, but the trainer believes Good And Clever has all the attributes to score at the highest level on Merseyside.
