'I'm bang there' - Joe Leavy still chasing apprentice crown despite Sean Dylan Bowen going five clear - plus contender profiles
'It's not over yet', is the message from one-time apprentice title race leader Joe Leavy in response to main rival Sean Dylan Bowen opening up a five-winner lead with less than a month of the championship to go.
In a constantly fluctuating title race, Leavy had clawed his way back from 14 behind to become the latest to wrestle top spot from Bowen, but seven winners from 17 rides has propelled Bowen back into the lead for a third time this season.
With less than a month to go until the championship finale at Ascot on British Champions Day (October 19), Leavy is aware time is running out to overhaul Bowen again, but having done it once already he will not go down without putting up a fight.
