'He's a king in the heart of Dartmoor' - at home with the hugely popular star and Badger Beer hero Frodon
We all have our favourites on the track, but it's not always easy to follow what they get up to once their racing days are over. In the first of a new Racing Post series, we catch up with Frodon, who on this day two years won the Badger Beer Chase with perennial ally Bryony Frost. He has since gone 'home' to join the Frost family in Devon. . .
When Frodon ran a gallant third in the 2023 Badger Beer Chase at Wincanton under Bryony Frost, it was obvious that his glittering racing career was drawing to a close.
After finishing fifth to Hewick in the King George VI Chase last Christmas he was gifted to Frost by owner Peter Vogt, meaning he would join up with another of Paul Nicholls' former inmates who played a key role in his rider's career, Black Corton.
