'Disappointed' Ed Chamberlin implores O'Leary to reconsider Tiger Roll decision
ITV Racing frontman Ed Chamberlin has implored Michael O'Leary to reconsider his decision not to run Tiger Roll in the Randox Grand National, which he believes means racing will miss a rare opportunity to bring the sport to a new audience.
Gigginstown House Stud boss O'Leary said on Tuesday that Tiger Roll would not attempt to emulate Red Rum and win the world's most famous race for a third time because he was unhappy with the horse's handicap mark.
Chamberlin is charged with bringing the Grand National to the nation and said on Wednesday he was "sad" and "disappointed" for the sport, knowing his job will be much harder without the draw of the most popular horse in racing to its flagship event on April 9.
