Confirmed runners and riders for the Welsh Grand National at Chepstow on Friday
A field of 16 will line up for the Coral Welsh Grand National (2.50) at Chepstow on Friday, headed by ante-post favourite Monbeg Genius for Jonjo and AJ O'Neill.
The 2022 winner The Two Amigos was among the absentees on Boxing Day, with topweight Paint The Dream and Chambard also not put forward.
Monbeg Genius has long threatened to win a big prize and shaped with encouragement on his only start this season when second to Fontaine Collonges at Haydock last month.

Grand National eighth Galia Des Liteaux will also run for Dan Skelton, she was last seen finishing down the field in the Coral Gold Cup at Newbury.
There will be four Welsh raiders looking to win the country's biggest race, headed by the exciting Jubilee Express for Sam Thomas. The seven-year-old was a smart winner when last seen at Haydock in March and is joined by stablemate Iwilldoit, who won Chepstow's seasonal highlight in 2021. The David Brace-trained Classic Concorde and Amateur, for John and Rhys Flint, also run.
Top Welsh jockey Sean Bowen will ride Where It All Began for Irish trainer Gordon Elliott. Stablemate Stuzzikini and the Gavin Cromwell-trained Evies Vladimir also represent Ireland.
