Jonbon faces seven rivals as he bids to become the first since Kauto Star in 2006 to successfully defend the Betfair Tingle Creek Chase (3.00) at Sandown on Saturday.

No rivals dropped out at the declaration stage on Thursday morning as the Nicky Henderson-trained star bids for an eighth top-level success. He is a warm favourite having made a successful comeback in Cheltenham's Shloer Chase last month.

He defeated Boothill and Edwardstone that day and they form the opposition once again, but he also faces a fresh challenger in the Henry de Bromhead raider Quilixios.

The Cheveley Park Stud seven-year-old has already caused an upset this season when lowering the colours of Marine Nationale in the Barberstown Castle Chase and he will bid for a first Grade 1 since winning the 2021 Triumph Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival.

Solness also runs for Irish trainer Joseph O'Brien, with Danny Mullins to have just his third ride at Sandown.

JPR One runs in open Grade 1 company for the first time in his career with the Joe Tizzard stable flagbearer coming back off a career best Haldon Gold Cup win last month.

Master Chewy, who will be ridden by Harry Cobden for the first time, and Unexpected Party complete the line-up.

The field for the Grade 1 Betfair Henry VIII Novices' Chase (1.50) was reduced to five with outsider Jordans not put forward. Odds-on favourite L'Eau Du Sud takes on Down Memory Lane, for Gordon Elliott and Mark Walsh, and Rubaud on his chase debut.

Becher Chase: Chianti Classico heads field with new jockey

Jonathan Burke will take the Becher Chase (2.07 Aintree) ride on Chianti Classico with Kim Bailey's stable jockey Tom Bellamy injured for a week after unseating at Haydock on Thursday.

The seven-year-old, who won the Ultima at the Cheltenham Festival in March last season, will be bidding to give Bailey a first success over the famous course since Mr Frisk's Grand National win in 1991.

He will take on King Turgeon, victorious over the course in the Grand Sefton last month, for David Pipe, with the staying-on third Gaboriot looking to reverse the placings over a longer distance.

Topweight Coko Beach was one of five not declared, along with Fantastic Lady, Richmond Lake, Regal Blue and Your Own Story.

Topham winner Arizona Cardinal and last season's Welsh Grand National runner-up Iron Bridge also line up in Saturday's race.

Becher Chase tip and 1-2-3 prediction

Arizona Cardinal
2 Chianti Classico
3 Chambard

By Stuart Redding, Weekender tipster

Arizona Cardinal made rapid progress last season when his wins came over trips as far as three miles and culminated with a one-length win over James Du Berlais in the Topham Chase.

A comeback run at Chepstow in October will have blown away any cobwebs and recent reports suggest he has made a full recovery after a dirty scope ruled him out of last month's Grand Sefton. Recent Ascot winner Chianti Classico is the main threat.
