Charyn in top order for Notable Speech showdown as Roger Varian eyes Group 1 hat-trick in France
The regular grass gallops have been out of action for over a month now, so the watered gallop was in demand on Saturday as two-time Group 1 winner Charyn led the way just after 6am.
Silvestre de Sousa was hard to identify when emerging from the mist on Charyn, but the Roger Varian-trained grey soon loomed large and bounded out of the Dip. The four-year-old will tackle the Group 1 Prix du Moulin at Longchamp next Sunday, where he will be going around a bend for the first time since winning the bet365 Mile at Sandown in April.
