Charlie Deutsch savours 'amazing' Betfair Chase success two weeks after landing on his head in fall
Charlie Deutsch paid tribute to "just wonderful" Royale Pagaille on Sunday but revealed he was far from confident through much of the horse's epic second Betfair Chase success.
He was also full of praise for the help he received in recovering from a heavy fall earlier in the month that might have threatened his fitness to ride at Haydock on Saturday.
The jockey returned from being sidelined with concussion a day before the Betfair Chase, in which the front-running Royale Pagaille battled back from being headed by Grey Dawning at the final fence and led again on the run-in to beat Harry Skelton's mount by two lengths.
