Charlie Deutsch is confident Victtorino can bring his A-game to Newbury on Saturday as the jockey aims to continue his red-hot form by winning the Coral Gold Cup for a second time.

Deutsch’s victory on the Venetia Williams-trained Cloudy Glen in 2021 was his biggest success at the time but he has since gone on to land four Grade 1s, most recently with Royale Pagaille in last weekend’s Betfair Chase at Haydock.

Victtorino won two of his five starts for Williams last season, including the Grade 3 Howden Silver Cup at Ascot, and Deutsch believes he has a massive chance in the £250,000 contest. The six-year-old is a 15-2 chance with the race sponsors.
