Affordability checks remain a 'threat to racing' and the sport must continue to campaign - ROA
Affordability checks are still a threat to British racing and the sport must continue to make its case against them, according to Racehorse Owners Association (ROA) president Charlie Parker.
The warning came in his opening statement in the body's annual report for 2023-24, which also revealed financial results which Parker admitted were "not good".
Last week a six-month pilot to test "frictionless" affordability checks for punters was launched by the Gambling Commission, although some observers described the regulator's approach as lacking in detail and transparency.
