Cheltenham Festival day three preview

Two fantastic Championship races headline what is known as St Patrick's Thursday at the Cheltenham Festival on March 13.

The Ryanair Chase, run over the intermediate trip of 2m4½f, looks to be a cracking renewal featuring plenty of high-class chasers, while a few new faces to the division take to the track to claim the Stayers' Hurdle crown.

The Pertemps Network Final, which features the top-rated contenders who have qualified for it, is renowned for being a difficult puzzle to solve. It is one of five handicaps on the card, with the addition of a middle-distance novice handicap chase (formerly the Turners Novices' Chase) of particular interest. 

Cheltenham Festival 2025: day three tips

• Sixandahalf (Mares’ Novice Hurdle, 1.20 Thursday):
  Sixandahalf can prove a class apart for Gavin Cromwell. The Irish Cesarewitch third boasts plenty of fair form on the Flat, and in bumpers, and decent ground is in her favour. She may lack experience over hurdles but was very impressive on her debut in this discipline at Fairyhouse in January and there is a good chance her ability will see her through.
  
  
• Feet Of A Dancer (Pertemps Final, 2.40 Thursday): 
  Trainer Paul Nolan won this race with Mrs Milner in 2021 and can repeat the feat with Feet Of A Dancer. This mare is very unexposed over an extended distance and has scope for improvement after just five handicap starts. She is versatile regarding ground, having won on good, good to yielding and soft, and arrives fresh after a break since Christmas.
