Coral Dublin Racing Festival day two preview

There are four more Grade 1s on offer on the second day of the Dublin Racing Festival at Leopardstown on Sunday, when the feature Irish Champion Hurdle sees two-time winner State Man take on stablemate Lossiemouth in a fascinating clash.

The Grade 1 Novice Chase has been won by the likes of Faugheen, Monkfish and Galopin Des Champs in recent years and Ballyburn, who was last seen chasing home Arkle favourite Sir Gino, is a warm order to add his name to the roll of honour.

Five of the last seven winners of the Tattersalls Ireland Novice Hurdle have followed up in either the Supreme Novices' Hurdle or the Gallagher Novices' Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival, so is a must-watch with that in mind.

Willie Mullins has been the dominant force in the Dublin Chase, winning every one since 2018, and his Gaelic Warrior is a short price to enhance his Champion Chase credentials on Sunday.

With Coral offering a total of £50 in Dublin Racing Festival free bets for this Sunday's racing, there are plenty of options available for you to bet on. Here are some ideas:

An emphatic winner of his sole bumper, Kopek Des Bordes made an immediate impression over hurdles when winning well at Leopardstown on Boxing Day. The second has since beaten a useful prospect in another novice, so the form looks solid, and he is sure to take a big step forward from that here.

State Man has won the Irish Champion Hurdle for the last two years and is likely to be a bigger price this year, having been beaten twice by Brighterdaysahead this season. That rival doesn't run here, and the Racing Post Rating he achieved in finishing second in the Morgiana is better than anything Lossiemouth has ever produced. You can forgive him one bad run last time and he can prove the best Mullins has in this division.
