Monday

The Galway festival gets under way on Monday with a mixed card to kick off the week's action.

HMS Seahorse, who was fourth in the Fred Winter, is odds-on to land the opening novice hurdle (5.10), the first of two jump races to open the meeting.

There is also interest for jump racing fans later in the evening when Grade 1-winning hurdler Echoes In Rain reverts to the Flat for the feature Connacht Hotel Handicap (6.40).

Newton Abbot hosts the sole British jump meeting of the day, while Flat racing can be found at Ayr, Ffos Las and Windsor.

Tuesday

Afternoon racing will be dominated by the action at Goodwood, which opens their five-day festival with a star-studded eight-race card.

The highlight of Tuesday's action is the Goodwood Cup (3.35), with last year's winner Trueshan, Ascot Gold Cup star Kyprios and four-time hero Stradivarius all entered for the 2m contest.

There is more Group action with the Vintage Stakes (2.25) and Lennox Stakes (3.00), while the opening Chesterfield Cup is the pick of the handicaps (1.50).

Galway's card begins with a Listed novice hurdle (5.10) before Saltonstall bids for a third success in the competitive €120,000 COLM QUINN BMW Mile Handicap (6.40).

Beverley and Yarmouth host Flat meetings ahead of the evening action over jumps at Worcester and Perth.

Wednesday

It is all about Baaeed on Wednesday as the William Haggas-trained star bids to extend his unbeaten run to nine in the Sussex Stakes (3.35).

He takes on last year's winner Alcohol Free, who claimed the July Cup on her last start alongside French Group 1 winner Modern Games, who takes on older rivals for the first time.

Japanese raider Bathrat Leon adds a fascinating international element to the Group 1, while Royal Ascot runner-ups Rocket Rodney and Walbank take each other on in the Group 3 Molecomb Stakes (3.00).

Not to be forgotten is the Galway Plate (6.40), which headlines day three of the action at the Irish festival. Promising novice chaser Cape Gentleman makes his first start since November against Easy Game, The Shunter and Darasso, who were second, fourth and fifth respectively last year.

Redcar, Sandown and Leicester hold Flat meetings while the sole British jumps fixture comes at Perth.

Thursday

It is a day for the fillies and mares at Goodwood with the Group 1 Nassau Stakes (3.35) headlining the card.

French Oaks winner Nashwa bids for a breakthrough Group 1 victory in Britain under Hollie Doyle and could take on a strong hand by William Haggas with My Astra and Lilac Road.

Derby runner-up Hoo Ya Mal could make his first start for George Boughey in the Group 3 Gordon Stakes (3.00) ahead of a tilt at the St Leger, while the two-year-old colts and geldings line up in the Group 2 Richmond Stakes (2.25).

Ladies Day at Galway features the Guinness Galway Hurdle (5.05), won for three of the last four years by Willie Mullins.

Mullins will also bid to make his mark on the Guinness Novice Hurdle (4.30), a contest he has claimed for the last four years, while Galway's Flat racing is headlined by the Listed Corrib Fillies Stakes (3.55).

Nottingham, Epsom and Salisbury complete the Flat meetings for the day, while jump racing can be found at Stratford.

Friday

Raasel is yet to be beaten in two starts at Goodwood and seeks to claim a course hat-trick in the King George Qatar Stakes (3.35) for Mick Appleby.

The Glorious Stakes (4.10) and Thoroughbred Stakes (2.25) round out the Group action but there is plenty of competitive handicap racing on offer on Friday with Goodwood's Golden Mile Handicap (3.00) and the Guinness Handicap (6.35) at Galway.

Nassau Stakes hopeful My Astra landed the fillies' novice stakes (7.30) at Newmarket last year and the mile contest could throw up another classy winner, as could the opening novice stakes (5.10), with the last three winners going on to Group success.

Flat racing can be found at Musselburgh, Southwell and Wolverhampton plus a jumps card at Bangor.

Saturday

The Stewards' Cup (3.20) is Saturday's feature contest at Goodwood, a popular punting contest that is often known to throw up big-price winners.

The handicap is proceeded by the sole Group contest at the track in the Lillie Langtry Stakes (2.45), with Lancashire Oaks winner Free Wind likely to be a short-price favourite for John and Thady Gosden.

Racing returns to Newmarket for the Listed Chalice Stakes (2.25), while Doncaster and Thirsk also host afternoon Flat meetings.

Galway continues their meeting with the BoyleSports Handicap Hurdle (2.30) featuring among eight contests on Saturday.

Lingfield and Hamilton complete a busy day of racing with evening Flat meetings.

Sunday

Eight more races are on offer at Galway as they round out their week-long summer festival with both jump and Flat racing.

The festival conclusion marks the sole Irish fixture for the day, while Britain hosts Flat racing at Chester and jumps action at Market Rasen to end the week.
