Agony into ecstasy: James Doyle out to right Juddmonte wrongs aboard Lord North
James Doyle, beaten on three favourites in the Juddmonte International, is hoping to turn York agony into ecstasy in the 2020 running on Wednesday when he renews his partnership with impressive Prince of Wales's Stakes winner Lord North.
Doyle was aboard the John Gosden-trained four-year-old at Ascot, but Frankie Dettori was due to take over in the Group 1, which has been won by a who's who of Flat racing royalty, including the awesome Frankel in 2012.
Dettori, however, rode in France over the weekend and will remain there for a week due to coronavirus implications, presenting Doyle with the opportunity to add the International to his CV after near misses on Crystal Ocean and Poet's Word in the last two years and a third on Al Kazeem in 2013.
