Anyone looking for an early steer on who could emerge as a Classic contender next season should pay close attention to the Darley Dewhurst Stakes. Winners of the race are often sent off at the head of the market for the following year's 2,000 Guineas, and Aidan O'Brien has an excellent recent record with four of the last six winners.
