Old Gregorian (2.45 Wetherby)

11 tips

Both wins have come at Kelso, springing a surprise under positive tactics there (2m, good to soft) three weeks ago; up 8lb as a result but Alan Doyle's 5lb will be a help; in form and has to be respected.

Kabuki (12.45 Uttoxeter)

9 tips

Won good-ground Newcastle bumper on debut last December and twice made the frame over hurdles last month; shaped with considerably more promise than eventual 17-length defeat suggests when third at Sedgefield (2m1f, good) last time and has a big role to play here.

Doyen Quest (2.55 Cheltenham)

9 tips

Produced late for handicap wins over 2m and an extended 2m4f on final two starts last term, finishing strongly here (good) in the latter; second of 17 when favourite for the Silver Trophy at Chepstow (extended 2m3f, good to soft) five weeks ago was an excellent return; up 3lb but looks nailed on for further improvement this term and good chance he will stay 3m.

East India Dock (12.35 Cheltenham)

9 tips

Developed into a useful stayer for James Fanshawe; looks a nice prospect for juvenile hurdles after winning without much fuss at Wincanton (1m7f, good; up with the pace) and the runner-up was of similar Flat ability; half-brother to Burdett Road who won this last year for the same connections and trainer James Owen.

His high cruising speed will be a big asset; unlikely we've seen the best of him yet.
