Yarmouth Placepot picks: Tom Collins with a 24-line perm for a competitive card

Providing showers on the Norfolk coast don't prompt too many non-runners a competitive card featuring big fields is expected at Yarmouth on Wednesday.

The opening 0-55 handicap (1.00) appears the toughest leg for Placepot punters with little recent turf form on offer. Dusty Damsel has been consistent on the all-weather and has to be included, along with Big Brown, who is open to improvement for shrewd connections, and Fujaira King, who could prove well treated.

A number of smart prospects line up in the following 6f novice event (1.30). I'm going to take a chance on Kingman colt King Of Gold and breeze-up purchase Penywern Taverner for top connections.

Goddess Of Fire has been knocking on the door of late and can break through in leg three (2.00). Estate House is also chosen despite not showing much on turf.

Recent Musselburgh runner-up Swaffham Bulbeck picks himself in the 1m3½f handicap (2.30). Song At Twilight is a more speculative pick, but should improve for the step up in trip, fitting of a visor and switch to turf.

Let Me Be is banker material on his bid for a four-timer in the penultimate contest (3.05), while Pax Britannica will carry the perm in the last leg (3.40) after an eyecatching run when last seen.
