Waiting Patiently boasts an unbeaten nap hand over fences and can stretch his successful sequence to six in Saturday’sBetfair Ascot Chase (3.35).

Ruth Jefferson’s progressive seven-year-old set the ball rolling at Sedgefield and Newcastle last season before really stepping up when he claimed the scalp of Politologue at Haydock just over a year ago.

Brought along steadily, he has since landed the odds on his return at Carlisle in November and then won decisively at Kempton last month from some useful benchmarks.
