US expert Adrian Wall fancies an expat filly who started out with George Scott

We start proceedings at Gulfstream Park with a maiden claiming race (6.00) with $11,970 going to the winner.

Jockey Luis Saez is having a terrific season, operating at a 20 per cent strike-rate in 2020. He takes the ride on First In Line, who will hopefully be first past the winning line.

Trainer George Weaver doesn't run too many horses (just 49 runners in 2020) but he has won with 14 of them – an impressive 29 per cent strike-rate.

Well backed last time, First In Line was sent off a 3-1 chance over the mile here at Gulfstream. He was given a very patient ride, breaking slowly away from gate nine and was ten lengths or so off the pace after the first turn.

He made eyecatching progress turning for home and finished a fast-finishing fourth. The extra 110 yards will help and I would be pretty hopeful Saez rides him with a bit more zest to keep him in touch of the leaders.

Dancingwithjimmieb, a four-year-old Macho Uno filly, has the form in the book to win the maiden claiming race at 7.39.

Alberto Burgos, a very useful 7lb claimer with a 13 per cent strike-rate on turf in 2020, takes the ride. Antonio Sano's horses are running well – he had a winner, second, third and a fourth here at Gulfstream on Sunday.

Dancingwithjimmieb was slow out of the gates on her most recent start and did well to finish fourth, so a line can be put through the bare form of that run.

On her prior start here over course and distance she looked a certain winner a furlong out but just got collared on the line. If she can put in a similar performance here she may not be for catching.

East Coast Swing started her career with George Scott in Britain before being shipped over to the US after two runs and winning over a mile on dirt at Turfway Park for Wesley Ward.

Now with Rodolphe Brisset, she goes in the $17,640-to-the-winner claiming race at 8.43.

Her first two runs for the trainer came on turf – she ran well for a long way at Tampa Bay, just tiring in the closing stages, and was far too keen on her next start but I reckon she's being primed for a dirt win again.

She is proven on the surface, still has low mileage on the clock and is always quick into the lead out of the gates. This is a small field so she might be able to dominate and set the fractions.
