There would have been a few raised eyebrows upon realising Blackbow and Franco De Port were Willie Mullins’ two representatives in the Grade 1 Racing Post Novice Chase at Leopardstown, but he can still win it.
Blackbow was a recurring nightmare for punters over hurdles, getting beaten at odds-on a few times in maiden company, but he looked more of a man over fences at Navan, and beating Entoucas in the manner he did is not to be sniffed at. He’s run well in a handicap since.
