EYECATCHER

Mobsta(3.35 Doncaster)

With four duck eggs next to his name from his last five runs, Mobsta will be overlooked by a number of punters for this 0-95 handicap, but he surely has a great chance of returning to form off a career-low mark. Rated just 88, 20lb lower than this time last year, Mobsta has been given every chance by the handicapper and the former Listed winner is dropped into Class 3 company for the first time since winning at Newmarket in October 2015. The conditions will be right up his street and the booking of Silvestre De Sousa is encouraging.

IRISH ANGLE

Gymkhana(3.05 Naas)

The heavy ground will be a hindrance rather than a help to the majority of runners on the first day of the Irish Flat turf season but Gymkhana, who has won twice on soft/heavy ground, will absolutely love conditions and can land this 6f handicap for the second time. Winner off a 3lb higher mark in this last year following a similar break, the Jessica Harrington-trained gelding has proven he goes well fresh and, having travelled well in rear, came through the fairly bolt up under Colin Keane. This year's opponents look slightly better and Downforce could be a threat off topweight, but Gymkhana should go very close to following up.
