The Punt Daily: Tom Collins' free horse racing tips on Saturday afternoon

BANKER

(3.00 Newmarket)

My domestic antepost portfolio consists of one horse – Perfect Power. Despite eyecatching victories at Hamilton and Royal Ascot, where he was aided by his draw, the son of Ardad didn't exactly grab my attention until he finished a close-up fifth in the Richmond at Glorious Goodwood. Everything went wrong that day yet he was beaten a small margin by Asymmetric and took longest to pull up. I backed him for this race immediately after they crossed the line and his form claims were boosted when he plundered the Prix Morny last time. I'm convinced that he's the best sprinting juvenile in Britain.

DARK HORSE

(2.35 Chester)

The well-drawn Ffion and hat-trick-seeking Mossbawn will dominate the market for this 7f handicap, and rightly so, but I'm going to take a chance on the Tim Easterby-trained Strongbowe. He's a perennial slow-starter, which isn't ideal around Chester, but he has drawn well in gate two and should be able to skim the rail throughout. Providing he's within a couple of lengths turning for home, Strongbowe has the acceleration to peg back the front-runners.
