The Punt Daily: Tom Collins' free horse racing tips on Saturday afternoon

GOOD THING

(3.30 Haydock)

This John Quinn-trained eight-year-old has to carry a 5lb penalty courtesy of Group 2 wins in the Boomerang Mile and City Of York Stakes last summer, but he has more than enough class to hall the weight to victory. If you put a line through his last-placed finish in the Group 1 Lockinge on his return (needed the run, wrong trip), he is the clear standout in this field. Safe Voyage boasts form figures of 11112 over this course and distance and won this race impressively on heavy ground in 2019. This year's edition isn't the strongest and it would be a surprise if Safe Voyage didn't bounce back.

EYECATCHER

(2.20 Haydock)

El Astronaute will be fancied to follow up last year's victory in this race (run at Doncaster) after his ready Chester reappearance strike. However, Haydock provides a completely different test and his sole run at this track resulted in his fifth-worst performance from 55 starts based on RPRs. Furthermore, he will be tackled for the early lead by speedballs Ornate, Zargun and Glamorous Anna, so preference is for a closer in Tarboosh. He ran with promise at Musselburgh (speed-favouring track) on his return and should be primed on his second start since a wind op.

DARK HORSE

(3.10 Beverley)

Owners The Cool Silk Partnership have won the Two Year Old Trophy at Beverley twice in the last four runnings courtesy of Summer Sands (2019) and Prince Of Lir (2016). The latter scored in this race on debut, so there is plenty of hope that his son, Straits Of Moyle, can repeat the feat this season against experienced rivals. The 105,000gns breeze-up purchase was bought to run in this race and the Norfolk at Royal Ascot. Providing he is mentally prepared to produce his best performance on the track, he should go close on his first run.
