The Punt Daily: Tom Collins' free horse racing tips on Saturday afternoon

BIG-RACE BANKER

(3.00 Newbury)

The Ladbrokes Trophy has been Enrilo's target since he crossed the line in front (subsequently disqualified and placed third) in the bet365 Gold Cup at Sandown in April. Trainer Paul Nicholls, who won this race with the brilliant Denman in 2007 and 2009, has carefully campaigned his staying chaser with the view to seeing him perform at this highest level this year. With four of his six career victories achieved on his first run after a layoff, winning course form in the book and assured stamina over this 3m2f trip, Enrilo ticks all the boxes in Saturday's featured race.

GOOD THING

Scene Not Herd (12.20 Newcastle)

Few horses make such a seamless transition to fences as Scene Not Herd. The Charlie Longsdon-trained six-year-old had prior of experience of chasing in points, but after a bumper start and four runs over hurdles for new connections, he blew me away with an authoritative nine-length strike at Hereford earlier this month. After a selection of accurate leaps, Scene Not Herd found himself clear of his four rivals and could have won by double the margin. Off 7lb higher, he can follow up.

EACH-WAY PLAY

(2.05 Newcastle)

You're going to get a good price about Informateur because he was stuffed 65 lengths on his reappearance at Carlisle 27 days ago. However, there were multiple plausible reasons for that drubbing, not least the fact he ran against former Grade 1 winners Fiddlerontheroof and Ahoy Senor among others. He also probably needed it after a 221-day layoff and is better suited by a longer trip, which he gets here. Informateur's record on his second run of the season reads 111 and Thomas Willmott's 5lb claim leaves him on an attractive mark.
