Raw six-year-old who showed little on his first two bumper starts at Ludlow and Doncaster, but seemed to mentally mature before returning to the track in an all-weather jumpers' bumper at Kempton last month. Bricklagger, sent off at 66-1, raced towards the rear but picked up takingly under a hands-and-heels ride to finish fast off a slow pace to win by an ever-increasing two lengths. It probably wasn't the best race, but an RPR of 101 suggests he has plenty of talent and although he has to give away a stone to most of his rivals here, it wouldn't be a shock if he followed up.
