The Punt Daily: Robbie Wilders' two each-way plays at Punchestown on Saturday

EACH-WAY PLAY

West Cork Wildway (4.25 Punchestown)

I’d imagine this race has been the long-term plan for trainer Paul O’Flynn’s stable star and I’m anticipating progression for the step up to this distance in the 3m handicap chase. You can draw a line through his fourth to Bob Olinger in a Grade 3 at Punchestown in January on his last run as he isn’t up to that class, but he was only three lengths behind the smart Gaillard Du Mesnil anyway and it wasn’t a bad effort. This is more his level and the way he saw out 2m6f when fending off The Bosses Oscar in November breeds hope he’ll stay, and after just three chase runs he should have more to offer.

EACH-WAY PLAY

Camprond (5.30 Punchestown)

Philip Hobbs is +£27.29 to £1 stakes with his runners at Punchestown and Camprond has surely been let in lightly in the 2m3f handicap hurdle at Punchestown off a mark 3lb lower than when the ground went against him in the Coral Cup. He still ran well there to finish a clear fourth and by far the best of the Brits, and reopposing with Fastorslow, who may prefer a bit of dig, on better terms on quicker ground should bring the pair much closer. A Grade 2-winning novice hurdler, whose fourth in the Greatwood Hurdle in November has worked out exceptionally, Camprond has freshness on his side having only run once since and this could be his day.
