The Punt Daily: Robbie Wilders' horse racing tip at Dundalk on Wednesday
BANKER
Belmont Avenue (5.50 Dundalk)
Zoffany colt who was sent off 3-1 favourite to defeat 1,000 Guineas favourite Santa Barbara on his second outing and, while he could only finish seventh, it was just ten days after a deeply promising debut second at Cork. I wonder if that race left a mark and he is perhaps better judged on his previous run. He only just failed to reel in the well-ridden front-runner Malaysian, who was still three or four lengths clear one furlong out but just clung on by a head from the rapidly closing Belmont Avenue. The subsequent exploits of the horses in behind suggest this was a maiden worth respecting. The well-beaten third, fourth, fifth, seventh and ninth have since scored, with three of those winners rated 90 or higher. Belmont Avenue is a confident selection to deliver on the abundant promise he showed at two.
