The Punt Daily: Robbie Wilders' horse racing tip at Cork on Wednesday
EACH-WAY PLAY
Aussie Valentine (5.15 Cork)
The handicapper has given Aussie Valentine an almighty chance in the 1m2f handicap at Cork. The former high-class ten-year-old is increasingly looking a little one-paced over a mile and I’m surprised he has been dropped another 3lb following his fifth of 16 at Gowran Park over that trip last time. Rated 81 at the beginning of the last turf season, Aussie Valentine is able to race off just 57 now and 23lb lower than when he finished an excellent third to Njord over this trip in a top handicap at the Curragh last June. Aussie Valentine commenced his campaign with a third of 17 to well-handicapped subsequent winner Pineapple Express, doing his best work at the finish of the 1m1½f trip that day. After faltering subsequently over shorter distances, this well-treated sort is taken to exploit his rapidly tumbling mark back up to 1m2f, with multiple firms offering five places for this 17-runner event.
