Strong stayer Two For Gold still ensures a decent standard here, but it looks a good opening for Kauto Riko, who often shows up well when fresh. Sent off 50-1 on his comeback last season, he emerged with plenty of credit when finishing fourth in the Paddy Power Gold Cup off 142 - 4lb higher than his current mark. The Tom Gretton-trained performer got within three quarters of a length of Top Notch, then rated 161, when second in the 2019 Peterborough Chase after a 269-day break, while he also recorded wins on his return from 248 and 250-day layoffs back in 2016 and 2017, admittedly off much lower marks. Seemingly versatile enough in terms of ground, he looks bound to play a leading role, with Brian Hughes a positive jockey booking.
