Take a chance on a horse who looks custom-made for the Welsh National
Springfield Fox
2.50 Chepstow

Conditions at Chepstow are going to be gruelling even by the standards we have become used to in the Welsh National. That will only put further emphasis on positive tactics and those proven in the conditions. Both should suit Springfield Fox.
The selection has been a Welsh National type in the making from the first time he ran over fences. Bold, front-running victories at Chepstow and Exeter confirmed as much and his run here earlier in the month will have achieved the main aim of getting him spot on for the big day.
The way Springfield Fox goes about things, there is no better jockey around than Johnny Burke- no, not even Bryony Frost. That might have been a negative, but James Bowen is a more than able deputy so there is no need to fret on that front.
The biggest concern is that Springfield Fox will have lots of competition on or near the front. Lord Du Mesnil, The Two Amigos and Yala Enki are just the likeliest. Assuming there is not a collective kamikaze mission, Springfield Fox should be there at the death.
