Paul Kealy's play of the day at Uttoxeter
Tedley
4.30 Uttoxeter
Tedley was a bold jumper of a hurdle, rarely making a semblance of a mistake and looking as though he was only marking time in that sphere, although he was usually pretty consistent, running to an RPR of 113 or 114 six times in what was a typically busy first season jumping for one from this yard.
I will be very surprised if he doesn't end up rated considerably higher over fences and looks well worth chancing on his chasing debut, particularly considering the remarkable record Twiston-Davies has with horses making their chasing debuts in handicaps in recent seasons. He is 9-19 since October last year, and form figures for such types over the last two months is 31F1111. If Tedley jumps as well as I hope, he can further bolster that remarkable run.
