The Savills Chase will represent some baptism of fire for those who are attempting the 3m trip for the first time, but you can get with Fakir D'Oudairies quite cheaply and this consistent five-year-old is worth chancing.

Although only just beaten in the Arkle last season, he has long looked as though 2m was an absolute minimum and he was clearly struggling with the pace over that trip on his return when second to Notebook.

When stepped up to 2m4f last season he thumped subsequent Stayers' Hurdle second Ronald Pump by 22 lengths (would have been interesting if Samcro had stood up two out) and he may have more improvement in him at 3m.

He usually likes to race prominently, so let's hope that continues to be the case and connections don't change tactics now.
