Nottingham Placepot picks: Tom Collins with his first Flat turf perm of the year

A number of leading connections are represented in the opening 1m½f three-year-old novice (2.10), a contest that might produce a host of future winners.

Daddy Frank enters the race with the best form and has to be included for the red-hot John and Thady Gosden team, while Dubawi Sands should relish the step up in trip and better ground.

I want to take on topweight Straitouttacompton in the following 1m½f handicap (2.40) as all his recent form has come on the Fibresand at Southwell. I prefer course winner Channel Packet and the well-handicapped Louis Treize.

Copinet could prove a class above in the following handicap (3.10), but it's worth doubling up with Night Narcissus, who went off too hard last time and remains on an upward curve.

Smart juvenile Ben Macdui looks banker material in leg four (3.40), for the in-form Kevin Ryan. The return to quicker conditions and 5f is ideal.

Race fitness is crucial at this time of year, so you can also bank on Ocean Wind in the feature Listed Further Flight Stakes (4.10) after his creditable Kempton second.

Finally, Astro King and Turn On The Charm enter their four-year-old seasons on workable marks and could fight out the finish in an exciting race (4.40) to end the perm.
