Newcastle Placepot tips: Robbie Wilders serves up the Tuesday perm
Newcastle looks the best meeting in which to tackle the Placepot on Tuesday and Portfolio appeals in the opening 1m2f handicap (5.55).
She caught the eye when third in a Newmarket maiden in April and could be well treated off an opening mark of 79.
The Hugo Palmer-trained Irish Legend was outclassed in the Classic Trial at Sandown last time and is also worth including down in class.
The following 1m2f handicap (6.25) should see course-and-distance winner Briardale go close in his bid for a hat-trick.
Chris Dwyer has coaxed significant improvement from Helian in two starts since joining the stable and he can also continue on an upward curve.
Peter The Great and Nagano renew rivalry in the 1m2f novice (6.55) after finishing first and third in the Wood Ditton. They should have a class edge in this company.
Robasta might have been unsuited by soft ground at Ascot this month and his previous experience suggests he is worth banking on in the 5f novice (7.25).
I suspect the well-bred Tinker Toy might prove better than a handicapper in time and is the sole selection in the mile contest (7.55).
The final leg (8.25) is best left to in-form course-and-distance scorer Thaayer, while Sparkle In His Eye is well treated on past form and made an encouraging stable debut for Micky Hammond last time.
There will be a £106,235.27 rollover pool for the Jackpot at Newcastle as there were no winners at Wolverhampton on Monday. Players can get involved from 1p per line.
