This well-grown five-year-old returned after a 285-day absence having last finished fifth in a Warwick bumper and, looking at him before the race, I thought he was carrying plenty of condition. Placed in midfield, he seemed to lose his way halfway down the back and was going nowhere, but as the field swung into the home straight this solidly made type got his second wind to run on strongly through the field.
