Friday bets: our experts reveal their strongest fancy

Handicappers' nap

Puds (6.35 Newcastle)

Running well recently and won't mind the switch back to all-weather. A good-size field over 5f could be just what's required to squeeze a bit more improvement.

Newmarket nap

Turjomaan (8.15 Newcastle)

Roger Varian's smart type has been working well for some time on the all-weather surfaces and Limekilns and is fancied to make a winning reappearance.
David Milnes

Eyecatcher

Copper Knight (6.35 Newcastle)

Broke arguably best of all but he was shuffled back and repeatedly found his path blocked when attempting to run on. He finished on the bridle and looked one of the chief sufferers in a messy race.
Raceform

Our analysts from Raceform find eyecatchers at all meetings in the UK and Ireland, every day. Essential subscribers can read their expert view on every race

Ace Tipster

Copper Knight (6.35 Newcastle)

Won this race last year and looks to still be improving, just five and coming into his prime as a sprinter. Got no run in the Epsom Dash last time and better expected now.
Keith Melrose

Speed Figures

Nahaarr (6.45 Newmarket)

Unbeaten in both starts over six furlongs, shapes as though this extra furlong will suit and looks on a reasonable mark for his hat-trick bid.
Dave Edwards

Irish Angle

Pink Dogwood (5.25 Curragh)

The Investec Oaks runner-up should have no difficulty dropping back two furlongs in trip and can give Aidan O'Brien a fifth win in the Group 1 Pretty Polly Stakes. She can account for Wild Illusion.

Spotlight nap

Prejudice (9.00 Newmarket)

Brother to 1m2f-1m4f Group 1 winner Postponed; won 1m Redcar nursery on good last term; only fourth in a 1m3f Newbury handicap on return but that was a big jump in trip after 203 days off and he ran okay; he should do better.

Dark horse

Pickett's Charge (5.30 Newcastle)

Three-time winner at this Tapeta course and will be suited by the return to his favourite venue, especially considering he's 6lb lower than his last visit. He could go well at an each-way price.
David Revers

Must-have stat of the day

Dariya (4.35 Cartmel)

Since 2015, Charlie Longsdon's runners at Cartmel have finished 1231131. He sends Dariya up north to contest the 4.35 in a bid to enhance that great record.
