Wincanton Placepot tips: Paul Kealy's perm for the £100,000 guaranteed pool

Some good horses have won Wincanton's opening novice hurdle (12.35) in the past, but with Paul Nicholls' Sorceleur winning at Exeter on Friday and sure to come out, this looks dreadful. Clinton Lane and Holeshot look the obvious contenders for the Placepot.

Tedley is the one to beat in the next (1.09), but Killer Kane is race-fit and very well handicapped at his best, so goes in, too.

I like All The Glory and Space Voyage in the mares' hurdle (1.45), but it's arguably the most competitive race on the card, so I'll add recent winner Pretending to the mix too.

Handstands is favourite for the Rising Stars Novices' Chase (2.23), but this is a tough ask first time, so Insurrection and Soul Icon are preferred.

The former takes the same route as last year's winner Knappers Hill and represents a trainer who has won the race 11 times, while the latter was a cracking second in the Summer Plate.

You've got to get the winner of the Elite Hurdle (2.55) and I expect that to be Rubaud, despite his penalty.

Brentford Hope wants deeper ground, while Aspire Tower may have won back over hurdles last time, but was getting weight from a four-year-old rated 130, and he'll need to be 20lb better to score here.

The final leg is the Badger Beer Handicap Chase (3.30) and I'll go all-in on Lord Accord, as he is in flying form with two easy wins to his name recently. One of them came over the course and distance and he's still 8lb lower than when second to Frodon in this two years ago.
