US racing tips: Shane Ketteridge has two selections for Woodbine on Saturday
Will Reign
10.41 Woodbine
1pt each-way
My Boy Prince
11.16 Woodbine
1pt each-way
A competitive field of two-year-olds have assembled for the Grade 1 Summer Stakes, taking place over a mile on the turf course, and one who can go well at a price is the Mark Casse-trained Will Reign.
Her sire War Of Will was second in this race in 2018 and the way in which she finished with a late rattle for fourth in the Catch A Glimpse Stakes last time was very promising.
She was held up before having to come eight horses wide turning into the home straight and finished with purpose over an extended 6f trip so, with this step up to a mile being sure to suit, she can go well under Kazushi Kimura.
European raider Naval Power is likely to be a warm order in the Woodbine Mile Stakes off the back of his two second-placed efforts in Grade 1 company on his last two starts but there’s value against him in the shape of My Boy Prince, who has an abundance of course experience and looks to have been slightly overlooked at the prices.
This son of Cairo Prince has won six of his nine starts at Woodbine, with five of those being stakes events, and form figures of 23 from two efforts in Grade 1s puts him right amongst the main protagonists.
Recent workouts have been solid and trainer Mark Casse has won this twice in the last eight years with Tepin and World Approval.
