The Tote’s £50,000 Placepot guarantee is at Kempton and the opening mile amateur jockeys’ handicap (5.00) looks like a match between Drifts Away and Profitman. Put both in the perm.
The two divisions of the mile maiden are chances for bankers. Opera Ballo should be hard to beat on his debut in the first (5.30), while Quai De Bethune looks solid in the second (6.00).
Squires Treaty has run two good races in defeat at Southwell since being switched to handicaps last month and is one of two picks in the mile handicap (6.30). Almutraf is the next best.
Monopolise has a chance in the 7f handicap (7.00) after a 2lb rise for his win over a mile here recently, but King David is also one to include. He didn’t get a clear run at the track last time.
The following 6f handicap (7.30) is the last leg and Distant Rumble is one of my best bets of the day. He could get caught wide from stall 11, though, so put Horus into the perm just in case.
