Kelso Placepot tips: Tom Segal has three bankers as he bids to land a slice of the £50,000 guaranteed pool
Champion jockey Harry Cobden makes a rare visit to Kelso but his mount Jumping Susie can be opposed in the opening novice hurdle (1.30) by Step Out, who could provide Daryl Jacob with a welcome winner after his long injury absence.
In order to keep the perm manageable, Shared can be relied upon in the 2m5f handicap hurdle (2.05). He's open to plenty of improvement and should be suited by the track.
Cobden's standout ride Yokkell can be banked on in the 2m novice hurdle (2.40). However, the last three races look much tougher to dissect and a couple is probably needed in all of them.
Silver In Disguise and Universal Folly are two in the staying handicap chase (3.15) that should go well, although a case could be made out for nearly all ten runners.
The star horse on the Kelso card is Tommy's Oscar in the feature 2m1f handicap chase (3.50) and he won this race last year easily. If he's in the same mood a 5lb rise won't stop him, but this is a better race and with the Nigel Twiston-Davies team in such good form, Guy goes in the perm as well.
The final leg, the first division of the 2m5f conditional jockeys' handicap hurdle (4.25), is hard to solve. The 2022 winner of the race, Rickety Gate, has dropped to a similar mark and will bounce back to form soon, while Theirshegoes was impressive in this sort of grade at Uttoxeter in June and a repeat of that would give her a solid place chance.

Arc pool bet
WHILE Arc day at Longchamp is not a World Pool day, all PMU meetings are now commingled with UK Tote pools, so it is possible to bet against those playing in Paris, writes Keith Melrose.
Our best bet is a Swinger. As a reminder, to cop the Swinger you have to get two horses in the first three, in any order.
My main view on the Arc (3.20) is that Fantastic Moon and Aventure are being underestimated. Both have good draws. Put them in with the solid Bluestocking, who is likely to provide some value in the French-dominated pools.
