The Tote’s Placepot guarantee is at Haydock and it may be lucrative because there aren’t many big fields, which means fewer places. Only three line up in the opening 2m4f novice limited handicap chase (2.20) and the winner is needed, so include Yealand and Galunggung.
Just two places are available in the following 2m5f maiden hurdle (2.50) and Pike Road can run well provided his fall at Ludlow last time has not taken any toll. Put Cahier’s Den in too.
The 1m7½f novice hurdle (3.20) is next and two places will be available as long as all five run. If they do, put in the Willie Mullins-trained Jarrive De Mee, who is unbeaten under rules.
The following 2m5f mares’ handicap hurdle (3.50) is another with only two places. Wrappedinrubies looks certain to go well, but it is also worth putting in Presenting Doy.
There are two places again in the feature 3m4½f handicap chase (4.25), so put in Duke Of Deception and Wal Buck’s, but there are eight declared for the last leg, the 2m3f handicap hurdle (5.00). With three places on offer it is worth banking on Typhoon Flyer, provided all eight get to post.
